Cave Creek has retained the southwestern feel thanks to its many horse properties surrounded by state land. Many homes are custom built on larger properties but this town also has over 100 different subdivisions with a wide variety of home options.
Tatum Ranch is one of the most popular larger subdivision in Cave Creek with single-family homes ranging from 1,400 to approximately 4,300 square feet. North of Tatum Ranch is also the family friendly Dove Valley Ranch with its 850 homes in a beautifully landscaped gated community. The family friendly Cave Creek offers several community parks including Desert Willow Park, John Teets Park and Rancho Paloma Park, and Dynamite Park with access to basketball courts, soccer fields, picnic ramadas and playgrounds. Shopping and entertainment can be found in the Carefree Marketplace and Old Town Cave Creek. Art galleries, eclectic boutiques and unique restaurants are popular among visitors and locals.
Cave Creek Unified School District is an “A” rated district which includes Black Mountain Elementary School, Desert Sun Academy, Desert Willow Elementary School, Horseshoe Trails Elementary School, and Lone Mountain Elementary School. Seventh and eighth grade students attend Sonoran Trails Middle School, and Cactus Shadows High School serves grades nine through twelve.
