Living in Cave Creek

By Joalice Ryan - August 31, 2020

Cave Creek was named for the cave next to the creek the town was founded on before Arizona officially becase a state.  Soldiers on horseback traveling from Fort McDowell found the ancient creek in 1870, and by 1877 the first adobe was built for hungry and exhausted travelers. Cave Creek and the neighboring Carefree share the beautiful land mark, Black Mountain.  Today, locals and visitors enjoy the fairly streneous 2.2 mile to the peak and that features beautiful wild flowers, rock formations and amazing views of the surrounding area.

Cave Creek, AZ has been our home for over 10 years now.  This is where we work, live and play.  The close poximity to some of the best hiking trails, great schools, shopping and cooler temps, thanks to the higher elevation, makes this a great choice for a family.  Cave Creek has a great variety of real estate options: you'll find anything from contemporarty condos, family friendly single family home communities, sprawling luxury custom estates to rustic horse ranch properties.

People living in Cave Creek have strong community values and appreciate the area for the scenic Sonoran Desert views, small town feel, higher elevation and close proximty to many eclectic restaurants, boutiques, golf resorts and A+ rated schools.
