The Life Of A Realtor During COVID-19

Joalice Ryan with face mask photoIt will be interesting to see how our new normal will evolve once we get through this challenging time of COVID-19.  We may keep our social life closer to home and keep our circle of friends smaller but people will continue to want to or need to buy or sell their homes.  After my initial inclination to scale down and focus on my family,  I am now more than ever motivated to continue exploring new ways how I can best service my clients and use available virtual tools to conduct business.

Using apps such as FaceTime and Zoom has always been very helpful with assisting my out of state buyers to find a home long before we were affected by this pandemic.  Learning what my buyers are looking for, the must-have features and deal breakers, as well as gathering facts is easily handled via a conference call.  At that time, I ask a lot of questions, listen and create a virtual search result list of potential homes that fit my home buyers’ criteria in neighborhoods that would fit their lifestyle.  My local area knowledge in the north valley allows me to make recommendations as to what community is the best fit based on the proximity of amenities, schools or medical facilities that are desired.  I am easily able to pre-view homes, spot red flags or great investment opportunities and weed out the “no-goes” so as not to waste anyone’s time.  I conduct virtual tours not only of the home but the neighborhood and surrounding area and coordinate private showings if homes are vacant.

Most of us are no strangers to using technology and the internet to sell and buy homes, however what has become more important is working with people you trust as they are in the forefront on your behalf.  During these days, our spirit is being put to the test and we all need to pull together and adjust to our current situation.  It is still uncertain what the new normal is going to be but whatever it will be, I am committed to continue serving and supporting my clients.  Don’t hesitate to contact me if you are looking to sell or buy a home or know of someone who may need may services.  I love what I do and I am happy to do it!
